2v to 4v

I have an 81 f150 302 2v and i am planning to replace the 2v intake and carb to a 4v. I asked edelbrock about this set up and they said they don't have any carb that will work because the linkage won't match up. I know they don't want to violate some emission law, but does anybody have any experience with this swap. I want to get the edelbrock egr intake (3721) and 1400 carb. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like they might be talking about the kickdown linkage. Are you an automatic? Small Holley might work better.

Thanks for the reply Beartracks:

Yes, c6 without aod. Do you think a smaller carb would work better. I plan to put in the edelbrock performer cam and headers with dual exhaust also. I talked to Summit racing and they recommended the 1406 and edelbrock ford linkage parts they sell. Jegs also said it would work but recommended Lokar adapter plate and flexible kickdown linkage. I would like to buy the right stuff.???

Thanks,
Keith
