I just added a edelbrock 1406 carb and performer intake to my 78 F-150 w/ a 302 and c4 and when I went to install the kickdown rod from the transmission back to the carb it wouldn't work, totally wrong postition. Has anyone had this problem?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
Does your '78 have a throttle cable or linkage? I can't remember when the switch was. I was thinking you had a linkage, but in case you have a throttle cable, Edelbrock #1483 is an adapter that should work (according to them, not me). Take a look at the product info:
hey i got that kit plus the other bracket that goes with it and i still can't figure out how to make it work
You should contact Edelbrock tech support for that question because the odds of someone with your same setup using that exact kit in this one forum are fairly low.
You bought the Kickdown cable from Lokar and it doesn't work? I have that system, and it is really easy to install. Diretions that came with it were great. All you have to do is install, adjust so that it is when butterfly is wide open, the kickdown is engaged.
Sorry,
I misread your earlier post. Before you buy the Lokar kit, go to their website. O'm pretty sure they have their direction posted. Good luck. Can get kind frustrating at times.
