I would pop the front end up off the ground, and check things in the steering box area.
The spline has a tendency to become worn and get play.
I had mine sheer in half!
You checked the spline on the steering box?
Reached in and grabbed the steering shaft above the box to see how much twist it has?
With the front tires in the air like I suggested. You can get under the truck and push the tires back and fourth by hand like they were moving on the road, and watch the spline and the drive link on the steering wheel to see if it is moving, and how much. Make sure the column is locked.
Having somebody watch the input shaft might help as well, so you can compare notes as to how much it is moving with the wheels.
Like I had said before. The drive spline off the gear box sheered in half on mine.
I would hate for you to have some sorta play like that and have it snap while you were driving.
I'll check it tonight. I try how you said. I picked up a stabilizer too. I'll get it done tonight. If there is play on the drive spline how expensive is that?
I have a single stabilizer on the front end of mine w/ 35's and that makes a huge difference. That and Ive had 35's that went out of balance on the highway an dI could barely control it. Ive had weight not nessasarily get thrown by what youd think but have the bracket that hold the weight to the rim snap and that what caused it. that or if you rubbed a tire ona curb wrong they can peel the weights off or almost at which point they'll throw.
i had this exact issue for 2 weeks before i finally got pissed off enough to get under there and figure out hwat it was, off the steering box, the linkage that went to the drag links, the ball joint int he very middle was loose that it would shake just like yours, i would yank the wheel to one side and scare people ont he road to make it stop hah, the codder pin fell out and the nut was on by 3 threads. check that out and let us know
