i have a 2005 ford f350 superduty with the torqshift transmission and i need help in the worst way.when i put the truck into drive it immediately goes into fourth gear and it wint move until around 32-3500 rpm .i have checked the solenoids and theyre all good .i have no 1,2,or 3rd gear and i need the truck for work .i hooked it up to a code reader and at first it threw a shift solenoid b code .i bought a new solenoid and switched it and it still threw the code.now about a week later its now throwing a shift soleniod a code .i have checked all the solenoids and they are all good then i checked the harness from the engine to the side of the transmission and i got continuity on it so i now am out of options and i still owe money on the truck.also the tow/haul light comes on and blinks without pushing the button please help
I'm assuming you have a 4wheel drive. Did you include the transfercase in your service?
(Once upon a time... the principals car came into my schools autoshop. Basically had the same situation as you. The car wouldn't move till about 3k rpm. We went to drain the tranny and it was bone dry. We added fluid and it worked fine)
its got literally the exact amount of fluid its supposed to have in it and the transfer case wouldnt have anything to do with it . and it has fluid in that too
at first it wouldnt go into gear right away when it was started.all it would do would rev then it would slam into gear . then after the filter and fluid change, then it wouldnt go at all until the high rpm . its not engaging the first sencond or third gear only 4 and in reverse it only goes in high rpm too.
my best friend is a certefied mechanic and he thinks the computers fubared. i think its the torque converter but i dont know and really dont have the money for a new one of either so i came here looking for help
ive gotta try and find one of them if its not that then im gonna run the truck into a tree for the insurance......well not really .is there a way to reset the computer on it by any chance?
Come to think of it, I think its the computer. I was searching and found out that the transmission is electronically controlled. So I think the "controller" of the transmission is most likely the culprit here.
