Many of us probably have partitions in our truck beds. I was cleaning mine out today and thought I would post a couple pics of how I did it. It's just slots in the lumber, a lag bolt driven down from the top (counterbored hole) and a piece of plastic tubing over the bolt. I can clip bungee cords along the partitions so stuff doesn't slide around.
good idea, I just realized a couple of days ago my bedliner had built in slots for a bed partition like yours going to get some 2x4's soon, I cant believe ive had truck 2 years and havent noticed those.......ive needed something like several times ha!
Nice setup, Bill. I always think about doing something and then never get around to it. I like the crate full of Diesel Kleen, too. You're pretty well set for a while.
Did you route those freehand or do you have a table?
Is it a 2x6 or 2x8?
I have a table, but I believe I did those with a handheld router and a pattern bit. It's been a while. They could easily be done with a jig saw too, which is also used to cut the big radius on each end.
These are 2 x 8. Some guys might prefer something taller. If you use a 2 x 10 or a 2 x 12 (not sure which), they can be level with the wheel wells. There is a formed indentation in each wheel well that is intended for another slat, shorter, and laying flat.
Make the slots long enough so that a bungee cord hook will pass through on each side of the bolt.
A couple of other things - these work good to secure a high lift jack while off roading. The perfectionists among us might want to take these and get them Line-x sprayed to match the bed.
