No shift trans
Got in my 2000 F-350 automatic, with 178 thousand miles on it, this morning going on a trip the the motocross track. Stopped in town to get ice. Put the truck in gear and nothing, no go in any gear except reverse. Any ideas what happened and how to fix it? Thanks Ron

Probably the bushing on the steering column that the shift shaft goes through has gone away. When this happens, the linkage is too loose to shift right. It is a $5 part at the dealership for a new bushing and you should be good to go. You will have to remove the cover over the steering column to change it but it isn't a hard job. This would be a cheap fix if this is the problem.
