Need Help with the transmission 2002 f-350 with 113000 miles on truck had truck 3 years not the first problem until now ran and shifted fine on a recent trip of 800 miles truck has 4 in lift kit and pillar gauges good ones ,a super lift speed calibration box other than that no other mods. Truck will not shift out of 1ST and 2 gear truck goes to 3500 before it will shift, speed about 35 mph also noticed that my trans temp pillar gauge was way up over normal 190 on a short test run. it is always around 150 160 also my over drive light was blinking ,when I parked is after a test drive turned truck off and back on and the off light did not blink again just that one time. trans fluid has been changed and a tru cool installed last year did a complete flush .the trans will shift if I come off the throttle BTW is coming to mind but hope to avoid is for now $$$$ if you know what I mean , this is not a daily driver and other than hunting season does no towing, except for a utility trailer with 2 atv also it did not throw any codes .any help as to what to look for or check would be grateful .if it turns out to need a trans is there anybody around the Atlanta GA area you might recommend. Thanks Mike
There was a code stored. You may not have the right tool to read it, but it's there. When the OD light flashes a code is stored and will stay there for about a month after the last time the light flashed.
Mine was doing something similar and it ended up being the accumulator body, if I remember right it controls shifts from 1-2, 2-3 and so on. I was also told if the OD light is flashing you need to pull over asap, had mine towed while under warranty, just to be safe. Just my two cents. Ryan
Mine was doing the same thing last week. it pulled two codes P0781 and I don't remember the code for the other on but it was for shift solenoid B. I was having issues sifting 1-2 then to 3rd. My trans ended up being toast , second gear clutch went out and there was metal shavings as well as the fluid looked and smelled burnt. If I were you I would get it checked out ASAP!
