MSD ignition
I recently installed an MSD ignition on a new engine, and wanted to pass along a couple of things I have learned:
1.) Don't use an inductive timing light. It might misread the MSD signal, and make it look like your timing is jumping all over the place. Use the old type light with the spring on the plug. There is no chance of a misread.
2.) When you purchase your unit, if you have an older vehicle, get the noise capacitor with the unit. It costs about $40, and will save you a lot of time trying to figure out why you have an audio tach. Put it on and the noise is gone. Part #MSD 8830.
I put mine on today and the radio never sounded so good.
