Ok guys for the last few days, every once and awhile the truck ( a 95 f 350 7.3 psd) decides to go into a high idle mode on start up. And I dont have a high idle kit or any kind of performance chip.
But it only does it maybe 2 out of 10 times starting it. It goes upto maybe 900 rpm then back down to around 500 rpm.
have you checked the basics? fuel pressure, air filter, fuel filter? i usually change all the expensive parts just to find out it was something cheap causing the problem... you have any mods done on the truck?
Not at this moment. I do run power station supplement. Thats it... We will check all the basics later this week. Moms car needs cv joints tomorrow so we will be busy.
They are designed to do that when cold from the factory if i recall. If i had to guess you have a sensor going bad telling the computer thats it colder than it actually is. Not sure whick sensors are tied to it but someone should come along that knows. I think it the EOT sensor and one other
I would have a scanner put on it and check for any codes. You may even fiind anonther issue you didnt know about
