Just built an 1988 bronco.Problem is it runs rich after warmup i have no eagine light on.runs good out of gear put when u first take off it acks like getting foul out with fule u can give it more gas (stomp on it)it kinda gos away but not all the way some of the time we have good vacum new cap roder, wires motor was reman by me so thats good i know it got to be something simple can anyone give me any ideals? have not replace any Sencers and all the smog stuff is still on.......
is the motor a stock rebuild? whats the timing set at with the spout connector removed? have you checked the fuel pressure at the rail? double check the plug wire firing order. I would also check for vacum leaks.
I got a code finley 33 witch is egr was not opening and closeing propley, got to looking at it and relize egr was off a 93 witch is the motor i but in, its all stock just recondition it new gaskets and timing chain find out today if it works just swap my old one on from my 88 thay change the computer in 93 may have done it in92 the rack well be my next thing to look at if this dont work.....Thanks
replace with old one off 88 motor it seems to be better but it still get 33 code so i should replace the EGR evey thing else checks out not sure on fule psi yet...just learnning how to use the code reader i just not sure if its right...lol
Hay cem whats your timing set at ? my motor is a 93, but i have it in an 88 so are thay the same as mine? runsthe best on 20dec and it says on the air cleaner to set at 10dec and thats with the snoot off..... code 33c looks like it might be the big EGR tube well that affect the timming and have u every used a code reader to read timming and tell me about it ?
something isnt right if your getting the motor up to temp, pulling spout connector and setting the timeing to 20* btdc.
I have mine at 12* btdc with spout connector removed, msd coil and plugs gapped to
.55
the 88/93 timing procedures are the same.
code 33 could be the sensor on top of the egr or bad vacum to the egr or the egr is bad period. I just got my first code reader and so far its worked as should. prior i used paperclip method.
