A little extreme and expensive but get some new exhaust plumbing, bellowed up-pipes,new pedesal and a GTP38R and you'll really like the whistle, pretty sure it will work. Nothing like a 38R.
The other option is upgrading to the late model intake system, but instead of dropping the $$$ on a 38r, you can go with an ATS housing & WW. They whistle like a banshee...
If you are still running stock exhaust cut the muffler out... instant whistle.
Thanks you Chase!! I was waiting for it to be said as I was reading down the page. Intake, turbo, etc are nice but won't really help at all with the stock exhaust. If it's got a cat and muffler still, cut them out and run a straight pipe. Chase is right, you'll get instant whistle, no matter what intake and turbo you have.
True -- I guess the operative question is what have you done to your truck so far?? I guess we all assumed you have an opened up exhaust already...
I hear ya. But when I read it, I assumed that it was all stock because if it was already done, he wouldn't be asking the question!
As far as the intake, that will definitely help the turbo whistle from the driver's seat. The 6637 or Tymar open element filter will give you noticable whistle from the drivers seat. Not much extra from the tailpipe though.
