Has anyone here installed a 4'' lift or more on their expy. If so what kind of lift, and how much was it. I am interested in doing this, so your help is appreciated.

Expy 4'' lift

I have a 4" Suspension lift on my EXPY.
It is a Trailmaster lift, whcih cost me $1375.00 for the kit, + $500 for the labour, to have the kit installed(+VA tax).

The truck looks sweet now.
I changed my tires a week before the lift, from the factory 255/70 R16 to a set of BF Goodrich 285/75 R16, keeping my factory rims (16x7), to reduce costs.

The only problem of keeping the factory rims, was that the tires looked narrow & sat under the body of the truck, so a couple of weeks ago, I got a new set of 16x10 rims. This allowed me to keep the new tires I had bought. Putting these on made the tires look wider & the wheels stick out that little bit more. I'd actually taken the running boards off, to make the wheels look wider, but have now put them back on again.
One thing I did have to do after putting the wider rims on, was that, the right hand side wheel would clip part of the front bumper when turning left. So I just un-bolted the 2inch bottom part of the bumper, which just stuck out the little bit further into the wheel wells & that solved the problem.

Be careful with the brake hoses though...I had the problem of the break hoses not being positioned right, after the lift & part of my new suspension, was rubbing on them. So a month later with me un-aware of the problem of my brakes , whist on the interstate the traffic was coming to a stop due to congestion, I hit my breaks & my foot went straight to the floor. Luckly for me, there was a left hand hard shoulder & I used my foot-hand brake to slow down & stop. Pretty scary, when you breaks fail at 60-70mph. All sorted out now though, & the place whcih instsalled my lift, paid my towing expenses & parts, etc.

The truck handles a little different, from the way it did prior to the lift, but I'm used to it now.
Plus the speedomitor is off now....(I'll let you know how I get on in Court, after Tuesday )

I just want to take it off roading now

Expy 4'' lift

I also bought the trail master 4 inch suspension, which ran me about 2500 parts(shipping and handling), labor, tax. But I already had a 3 inch body lift on it which cost me about 900. I love it, I have 36 inch mickey thompsons. You wont regret it. the only thing is gas mileage goes to crap. It does feel quite a bit different driving it, mine drives like a tank, the steering wheel has a lot more play. The pic I have isnt really good but i will have another one that shows how good expys look lifted. My advice to you, be ready to want even more after you get your first lift, lift kits are like tattoos once you get one you always want more.
