tank/pump/ sender interchange

posted this in the 1987-1996 forums, but then saw this one. Thanks again for anyhelp.

Does anyone know whether I can use a gas tank, pump and sender from a 1997 van in a 1995 van. The head plate is different and it uses a different pump and sender. The tank company says the sender resistance is right, but they do not know about the pump. I am also concerned about the computer controls. Any ideas. thanks

As long as you keep the whole donor gas tank together, there's no reason it shouldn't work. Have you compared the tanks' physical sizes and that of the fuel line fittings & electrical connectors?

tank/pump/ sender interchange

just did a pump and sender on my 35 gal tank in the 92 E150. the replacement pump looked different than the original but it works.

Actually the first pump we put in didn't work well. It didn't have enough pressure. It was a brand new in the Fomoco box pump that I got with the van. The 2nd pump worked fine.
