It's not as bad if I'm in my 60E tune.

120 and 140 takes a practiced feathering of the pedal to keep it straight. If I don't feather it from the git go, I just sit and spin, smoking the heck outta my tires.

Uniroyal's suck by the way. Stay away from them!

My truck is the same as Stewart's. I can roll a good cloud in 60, 80 and 120..I've even at some points been concerned that I am making TOO MUCH smoke. Mine will smoke off the line unless I baby it, and if I slow down and let it dog at lower RPM in a higher gear it will smoke like a son-of-a-biotch.

Mashing the throttle from a dead stop in 80 or 120 I'll smoke the tires and leave a pretty good cloud of black.

Before I got my new set of tires, I wouldn't even drive the truck in 120. Too scary, truck would slide sideways in a heartbeat. She's a lot better now with the new tires, but still easy enough to slide the back end around if I'm not paying attention.

Absolutely, my truck seems sensitive to the ambient temperature. Funny, there are some days when I can definitely tell that the outside temperature and dewpoint are optimal for the truck.

I just have to add, on the way to work the other day, in 80E, my truck chirped the tires shifting into 3rd.

Pretty interesting how there is such a difference from truck to truck.

If you have XP, open it with MS Paint then "save as" and choose .jpeg format.

Some days when I lug it down, before it shifts I can get some smoke, other days it smokes worse then when I floor it from a dead stop.

From a dead stop, I can spin a little in 80e, 120 spin through most of 1st, 140 LOOKOUT for the cloud of black and whit smoke.

Every time mine does that I think of when you posted your results from the 203* stat swap. Its hit or miss though for me and I wish it would run like that everyday not just when its feeling like it lol. Today leaving work was one of those day it ran awesome, good thing since merging in rush hour isnt fun.

Guys I think this probably has more to do with personal driving habits and someone's interpretation of "Getting it sideways"

My brother wanted to take my truck around the block today since his 7.3 had a TS chip and mine's got a DP.

When he got back he said he was pretty impressed. But he said he got the truck sideways in 120R on dry pavement. I've NEVER gotten the truck to even chirp the tires from a standing start in 120. So I think it all has to do with personal driving habits and your idea of getting sideways. I've always known him to drive much more aggressively than I do.

I don't run DP tunes but my DI tunes will boil the tires and easily swing the rear end around and that's with 315/75/R16s and a 4" lift. On wet pavement, the truck is too squirrely to drive in anything higher than 80hp.

Hey Jeremy, In 80E from a dead stop at the track and mashing on it, boiled and rolled some coal.
