Help with idle adjustment please......

I'm trying to adjust the idle on my Holley right now, it seems high. My tack is reading around 800 rpm. I don't know what is proper, but was thinking 600 or so would be about right. Idle mix screws are 1 & 3/4 turns out. Which do I adjust first, (float bowls are already set.), idle mix screws or the idle adjust screw itself? Thanks for any help, Blair

Help with idle adjustment please......

Get yourself a vaccum gauge and set the mix first. Adjust the mix screws for the highest vac. reading. Then set the idle to around 600rpm in drive. Hope this helps!
