Well, I was heading out to take some pictures of another truck, and spotted something out of the corner of my eye, as I passed the EartH2O plant. Yeah, Earth2O water is made, and bottled 8 miles from my house. It looked like a maybe 56 Big Job. I decided to stop, after I was finished, on my way back, and check it out. As I got closer, I saw a definite old Ford. I got closer, and found it to be a '57 Ford Big Job, at least a 800 series (the numbers are missing), but I think more of a 900. Tandem axle water tanker. I took a few pictures, and went to the gate, and went and asked about it. They still maintain and use it to keep the dust down in the parking lot. The guy told me he thinks some one broke it though when they used the bulldozer to push it forward. He wasn't sure why they used the bulldozer, but said the clutch has been messed up ever since. He's gonna check on the owners willingness to sell it, when the owner returns in a couple days. So, here are a few pictures, and I added a new album in my photo bucket link with more. I'm gonna try and get them involved with FTE, and see if maybe EartH2O to sponsor the site, or at least, become a member.
It's a dual tranny truck. Dual factory fuel tank steps. Very complete from one end to the next. It still had the original motor, and the power assist steering is intact. I thought maybe it was a 6x6 at first, but looking closer, it's not.
I am amazed as to the condition of the truck. I didn't see any real damage, anywhere, except that it looks like the passenger floor board i smissing (looks that way in the picture anyhow). I may be wrong, though. The outside looked damage free.
