66 F100 2wd front disc brakes for blown 460
I have searched a lot and read a lot of threads But i guess I'm still confused. I'm building a blown 460 for my 66 F100 2wd. It has the 240 I6 right now. I want to do the disc brake conversion for the front So i guess i need the booster that will fit a 460? and I'm still really confused what kind of truck I would get the disc brake stuff, ( I plan on putting drilled and slotted Rotors). I there an option to convert to power or non-power brakes?

I'm no big expert, but I have done a power disc brake conversion to my '66 2 wheel drive F100. However, I did mine with the OEM FE engine, not a 385 series transplant. You can do disc brakes with or without the booster. My thought is that you should get your blown 460 installed, at least mocked up, with valve covers on and blower on and linkages installed and then see how much room you have for your master cylinder, booster, etc. Would highly recommend going to the two chamber master cylinder which became mandatory from the '67 model year for improved safety. Also it would be good to know how much vacuum your blown 460 will make to run your booster. Several booster sizes are available. The fact that you want to upgrade your rotors may or may not impact calipers and their mounting. Getting away from OEM Ford components may or may not complicate things, but I'm sure it can get done. Good luck with your project - from an old veteran!

To convert to power disc brakes only any 73-79 will work. The booster connects to vacuum from the engine, any engine. You can install new aftermarket rotors of your choosing.
Most of us convert to power steering at the same time and this is where engine specific donors come into play. You will need engine specific power steering mounting brackets that the correct donor provides. The donor needs to have the same type tranny that you will be running.
Fill in a few more blanks on how the truck will be complete.

I think you will need to go with hydraulic boost as a blown motor does not have reliable vacuum. A blower forces air into the chamber where on a naturally aspirated motor the pistons create "vacuum" to pull the air-fuel mixture into the engine. The blower will actually provide positive pressure instead of a vacuum.
