Radiator Core Mounting Hardware

So I am replaceing the rusted out radiator core support on my 1996 F350. The bushings/hardware were so rusted and seized up I had to melt the bushings with my torch, then go at it with my sawzall, grinder, and hammer. Needless to say, the hardware/bushings are completely trashed and I am in need of a new set. About 10 years ago I was able to go to Ford when doing this job on my 86 F250, but I called today and they are discontinued. Where can I get these? I found the stuff at LMC truck, but its gonna cost me over $100. That seems awfully high to me....

Any help?

Hockey pucks and some grade 8 bolts with large flat washers will do it.

really? have you done this? just a puck on each side between the frame mount and core support? what about below the frame mount? just a large washer? the stock setup had a bushing below the frame mount aswell.

Pucks are harder/denser that what's really necessary but as long as the support sits at the correct height for fender alignment it won't be a problem.

I did the same on my '92. Except I went out and bought the real bushings from LMC truck, despite the price. Rides a LOT better now.

kyle j,The fenders don't need to be taken off to replace the core support
