Its not just the "Cheap" belts. Look at the V contact patch of the belt. Some belts are "Cut" on the sides and some are as molded. The "Cut" belts grip better and tend to be quieter also. You can tell a cut "Belt" by looking at the side surface, you'll be able to see the cords at the top with a clean rubber surface at the bottom. Cleaning up the pulleys with some sandpaper and adding new cut belts should get rid of the squeak. Belt dressings are a bad idea and don't work long term.
nobody mentioned this yet but have you checked to make sure everything that turns is turning freely? I.E. water pump, p/s pump, alt., a/c
Good point, I was going to say that, and I have used just a touch of dove bar soap, dry, while it is running,,, make sure everything is turning smoothly first,,, see above,,, and good belts, could be a p/s pump ready to die, water pump, or just bad belts,,, try the dove, worked on my 94 F350 I had w/460, just a touch.
