I've tried doing searches on this but have come up empty. I have an 03 EB exped. I noticed the front a/c was only blowing about 60 degs and the rear a/c isnt blowing cold air. The rear will blow hot when set on heat. So I checked the freon and it was low. I put about 2 cans in it and brought the temp down to about 40 to 45 deg in the front but still no change in the rear. So I pull the back panel off to expose the rear a/c assembly. Next I checked both blend doors to make sure they are working properly. Both door and motors appear to be working good. I then disassemble the box to check the actual doors. Both look like they are fine. The evap core was getting cold as well. I put the box back together but left the motors off the blend doors so i could move thme by hand. I turned the a/c on cold for the rear and it started blowing cold. I installed the motors and checked them to make sure they were working and they both worked fine. So I thought maybe the blend door was stuck. I reassembled the back panels and called it fixed. The next day I tried the rear a/c again and no cold air again! I put the gauges back on it was a liitle low on freon again so I put more in but no change in the rear a/c. What gives?
I'm having a similair issue with my rear A/C & the kiddo's are sweating to death in the back seats!!
I can't seem to get the rear to switch from blowing on the floor to from the ceiling as it seems the "blend doors" are stuck somewhere in the middle...
Where can I find details on how to R/R the back panel to investigate whether or not the doors and/or motors are functioning?
TIA

Yours sounds like a blend door acutator if it won't swithc from floor to ceiling, and you are in luck that is the easy one. Pop off the change tray / crap holder under the passenger side rear window. The sides flex in about midway across the part to allow the arrow heads to clear the edges they are held into. Slightly forward, right on top of the wheel well you will see a beige box. That's the actuator. Three screws and one plug and it is out. You can get replacements any number of places from $20-$50. The axle of that actuator goes into the blend door, so you should be able to move it manually for the time being until you put the new one in. You may want to do some checking on the actuator to see if it is a stripped gear, which is the common failure (usually you hear thumps when it tries to work, but you didn't mention any noises).

Man you are right on the money!! Sorry I forgot to mention that but YES it does go THUMP when you attempt to switch it from floor to ceiling!!
Awesome reply, thx for the input!! Wife will be ecstatic & the kids won't get car sick!!
Then you are around 15 minutes from being all done with this one. You should take the old part out to get the numbers off of it - they have used two different versions, sometimes one of each in the same vehicle. I got mine from a Ford dealer with an online parts dept, it was $25 with shipping. I think most dealerships get something like $50 for them. Some discount auto parts stores have also.
