This doesn't prove anything, its just breaks U-Joints & everything else, even seen some where it rips out the whole rear end differential!
I would never do this to ANY truck, but you can do what ya want, its your truck,Good Luck my friend,Your running the same combo I am!
Not worth even trying. Those tug o wars are dumb IMO but its your truck so you can smoke the clutch and break parts if you want. That 550 is built like brick s**t house with an extremely stout rear end, frame and overall drivetrain. Since its a 550 with the sickO I'd say its got at least 4.30 gears in it but it could have as steep as 4.88s. If your on pavement you've got no chance whatsoever and will probably break and/or smoke your clutch. Not worth it man.
He has a utility/side crane bed, so a lot of weight over the wheels.
Going by that I'd say your weight estimate of 8200lbs might be off quite a bit too. Those steel utility beds are real heavy alone, then add a crane and the heavy 6.0l engine yet. F-550s are built too and heavy trucks. The trucks probably closer to 11k lbs. I figure its probably a Reading type steel bed with a crane mounted to the top.
With the crane in the back I would say your are even going to have problems on a dirt road but there would be the only chance youh have of ining the only chance pal roo and even that is a long shot
with the torque u have and by the time he gets his turbo wound up you will already be dragging him and there is no way he will ever get his traction back after the momentum has started. of course this all depend on him winding it up before u uys take off. still i think u have a pretty good shot.... i have tried damn near everything
haha great responses. My front bumper weighs 300lbs. If anything is tore up, it wont be that. I warned him, your plastic grill isnt going to like my bumper. He suggested we just throw a tire between us and go. with the Heavy suspension the 550 sits about the same height. The 8200lbs is what he scaled at. No guess, thats what it is. The crane is a side crane on the left side. He was a little worried about turbo lag so maybe if i get on him early. lol I had no intention of doing this on the asphalt as that is much more likely to break things. So I have him in tire's Goodyear MT/R vs road tires.
Bumper to bumper doesnt have the risk of slack and jerk, so that's why. Although it could end up that my bumper goes through his radiator. Then i win right?! lol
I mean if I lose, I lost to a f550 no big deal. But if I win..I just beat a f550!!
And yes...there is absolutely nothing to do in this city.
By the way, using 4wd again 2wd is a bitches way out. Sorry for the language but it is. If you really want to see who will win fairly, then use 2wd. You already have better tires over him.
Pardon my ignorance, but what does "pal roo" mean? I haven't heard it before and notice you use this phrase a lot.
Thank you for asking this question. I've only posted a few times but read every day and it drives me nuts everytime I read "pal roo". I don't mean any offense it's just one of those things that makes me scratch my head...
