lug nuts

I just swapped in a rear out of an '85 f250 into my '87 f250 and the lug nuts from my 87f250 rear end are too big for the rear end that I just put in from the 85 f250. Anyone know why the lug nuts would be a differant size and what size lug nut I would need for an 85 F25o rear? Thanks

your 87 f250 is probably over 8500gvw, those have bigger lug nuts than an f250 under 8500gvw. yours is probably a f250 HD

I was unaware f250s came with anything other than 9/16 lug nuts
