I checked some more stuff and took some more pics. I did not get a title with the truck but got a bill of sale with the VIN and it matches the VIN in the windsheild. I am not worried about not having the title as this is standard practice in MN for all titles. I found a sticker on the driver side on the valve cover that says somthing like 5-1-98-5.4 so I am taking it to mean the motor is a 5.4. Anyway I am not worried the truck came from a place that a lot of people recommended and they offered a one year warranty for all engine transmission water pump starter etc. The tires on it are 285s would I be correct that these were not the stock size or the stock rim? Since it has no door sticker like most cars I cannot find out the correct size. On a side note I tried to enter program mode for keyless entry and it took eight times before it cycled through which I thought it was to take five on a 97? Any help let me know. I just hate to go buy a carfax for something I already bought but I might have to. It seems like its a rebuilt 1997 with a lot of 1998 which I am ok. Its got an appointment to visit my mechanic to see what he says.

Well the 5.4l came with COPs every year, so the engine could still be the correct one for the truck based on your body style.

If you notice, the decal has been scratched right where it shows the year, however the part number on the decal is a 98. Soooooo. here goes. The original paint body with altered and removed decals, and 4wd is probably a 98 with a 5.4 , but the title shows it as a 2wd 97. Guess what? A obviously stolen truck with a vin swap. All the confidential vins would verify what I describe.
