I am putting a 4inch suspention lift on my 1978 F150 4X4. Im not sure what i need to do with my drive shafts, length wise, or anything else that needs to be longer. Will my stock swing arms still work? Do i need to add some sort of correction to my axles due to the angle it will be at. This is my first lift and any help would be appriciated.
Thanks
I am not sure what you will need to do about your swing arms but in another post a member suggested if you have a problem with yoke fall out find a rear yolk for a drive shaft and switch out your front driveshaft yolk out
I put a 4" Skyjacker lift on my 78 F-150 4x4 about 9 years ago and this is what I remember. I bought the Skyjacker system which is different than the kit. The system included new rear springs also, which get used with the factory blocks under them. The stock radius arms will be fine, but you will have to replace the c-bushings with new ones that have the proper degree angle. Your stock driveshafts should be fine, but may want to upgrade to a stronger set of u-joints, especially if you are going to a 33" or 35" tire. You will need a drop pitman arm, and a relocation bracket to drop the track arm. You didn't say if you bought any of your parts yet, if not, I would contact National Tire and Wheel in West Virginia. That is where I bought my stuff and they were very helpful on the phone to make sure I got what I needed to do it right the first time. At the time, they also had the best prices I could find anywhere, although that may have changed since then, I don't know. The website is www.ntwonline.com
