Are they the same block?
Does the powerstroke and the 7.3 non-turbo use the same block? Could a Powerstroke be dropped into an "89 F series and bolt up the same? I'm just kicking some things around.

About the only thing the stroke and the idi share is the displacement of 7.3. That being said,the stroke can be dropped into the 89. The transmission would bolt up, but the stroke is a drive by wire, and the idi is mechanical. meaning the dash, footfeed for the throttle, computer for the engine, wireing and sensors wouuld have to be used from the donor truck. It is not just a simple motorswap.
