I am adding some fog lights to my truck, I need to know if it is advisable and safe to attach the positive to the post on the underhood fuse box – it is under a clipon plastic cover. That is only easily accessible + post I can find. BTW it is on a 6.8 Superduty.
It has a inline fuse and all, I wanted to know if it being attached there could effect the PCM or other electronics. There is not anyplace to attach it on the factory battery terminal either - this would have been my first choice.
Use a ring teminal large enough to go over the bolt on the battery terminal (5/16" hole?). Either remove the existing nut to add the ring terminal, or if there is enough exposed threads on the bolt, slip the ring terminal over the bolt, and add another nut to hold it.
