I'm a virgin here so go easy on me the first time.
Working on getting my bone stock '55 F250 barn find back on the road.
Took the axle to a machine shop to have the bosses mic'ed. One is .009 over and the other .014 over. The machine shop would rather not sleeve it and asked if I could locate an oversize king pin set. Best I could find was .010 over.
Does any one know of a source for a .020 over king pin kit?
Well, any reputable machinist will know where to source over sized parts for the jobs they do. Other wise, I can only suggest NAPA, since they can all sorts of those kind of things. A king pin is a king pin. All you actually need, is the diameter, the length, and the location of the keeper pin(s) or bolts, or whatever that particular application has. If a king pin from a later model truck fits, use it, if not, find something else. Your machinist should of been able to take care of all of it, if not, I'd find a different machinist.
You need to find a Truck Spring and Frame shop. They will have the expierence to rebush or use oversize pins.
I'm talking about the Big Truck shops - They enjoy working on Pickups cause they can pick up the parts one handed.
