65 240 hp?

How can i tell the hp of my 65-240??
The 1965 Ford F250 offered the new Twin I-Beam coil spring suspension and a new series of straight 6 motors measuring 240 cubic inches making either 150 horsepower or 170 horsepower

150 gross is the 240. 90 net, (wheel HP) is about right.

240 1V I-6 = 150 Gross HP @ 4,000 RPM.

300 1V I-6 = 170 Gross HP @ 4,000 RPM.

The NET HP & RPM figures are listed on your trucks Warranty Plate, located on the face of the left door below the latch.

I do not recall what the 240's net HP figure is, but...it's more than 90. That figure is close to what the anemic Falcon 170 I-6 makes.

Usually the difference between gross and net HP on engines of this vintage is circa 15%, which means the 240's net HP is around 112-115.
