Glowplug control??? Help
I pulled a code off which is PO683....Glowplug control module to pcm communication circuit..
Any ideas on what I need to do to fix it???

Could be The GPCM ,Glow Plug/Plugs, GPCM harness connectors or the UVCH. The UVCH has claimed alot of lives by partial coming unplugged.

In the case of the Excursions they have a GPCM. The code you are getting suggests the module has gone bad. Get in touch with partsguyed. I checked over the weekend and his price is like $122. I need a new one too.

No, I am getting the code for the #s 2,4,6, and 8 glow plugs. No matter what I do with the harnesses. I get the same code all the time. When the GPCM goes bad you either get the code you got, the 4 I'm getting or the 4 for the passenger side glow plugs. The GPCM is nice to have when one glow plug goes bad cause you can diagnose which one. But when the GPCM goes bad its 3x as expensive as the Glow plug relay on the other trucks.

Thanks again Peter.....I went to his web site and tried to pull up the GPCM and nothing comes up.?? Are you still driving excursion? Do you know if it's ok to keep driving it until I get the GPCM?
