If you have the IP turned up 3/4 of a turn and are not rolling black smoke, I have to think you may not be getting enough fuel to the injection pump or the IP is well worn.
Do you know how many miles are on the IP?
With a fuel pressure gauge, pull the schrader valve out of the fuel filter fitting.
At idle you should have about 5 or 6 PSI.
Next remove the gauge, but leave the hose on the fitting and catch the fuel in a container.
Have someone crank the starter for 10 seconds.
You should have at least 1/3 pint in the container when they stop cranking.

Indeed, it would be Oh wait, what kind of taping are we talking about? How much smoke you really want tho? Joe's video wasn't too bad, that's just a bit more than I'm blowing when pulling a heavy trailer uphill. Do you want that with little engine load, or when you're hauling heavy? You can always turn the pump up more, just watch out to not bottom out the screw - Dave from Kanadia is one of the lucky people who run theirs bottomed out with no ill effects, but there is a risk that yours may cause governor damage and IP failure.

That does sound like great fun..... But I thought your government repealed civilian gun ownership down there a year or two ago???

Hell no, just no automatic or semi auto weapons. I got a cz rifle for foxes and cats and 12g for rabits and clay targets. Mucho fun. My next door neighbor has around 14 guns on a sporting shooters licence and soon i'll get a 30-30 for wild pigs.
Joe, I like the look of flat beds and they are more practical for my work, will want to see photo's when it's finished.
