got a question, i just bought a trailer brake controler one that is stock for the fords and i plugged it all in and then i get a TBC FAULT on the dash, did i miss something or is something wrong with my truck? i thought it might be a fuse but i would like a idea of where to look.
just wanted to add to this, no there isnt a trailer hooked up and when i unplug the trailer brake controler the fault goes away when i restart the truck. i can reset the dash screen and it goes away juse want to know if its a serious problem, im new to this forum and so far its helped me on a few things so thanks for your info
If the truck did not come with the TCB system installed, you will also have to add the Master Cylinder that works with the TBC then have the computer reflashed for the TCB to work correctly.
well the truck didnt come with the trailer brake controler in the cab but the rest of the trailer equipment is there i think? what do i look for on the truck to know if it has the MC and how would i know its been reflashed, i bought the truck with 120kms and its been great so far it has all the connectors on the back tho
If the truck did not come with the TBC, you do NOT have the correct Master Cylinder.
You are correct we have installed several on our fleet that came without the controller and you must change the m/cyll. we finally got our fleet manager to check the box for TBC when he orders trucks because it is alot cheaper to add it on the build sheet.
