Anyone out there have instructions or a link to instructions on taking your dash apart to get to radio? im really scared to snap something. anybody seen a haynes manual for these trucks yet, or even a website with downloadable instuctions thats sorta like an online haynes?
thanks.......chuck
Some of the mid 90s use a special tool to remove the radio. The radio just slides out if you have the tool.
I bought mine for about $5. They look like coat hanger wire bent into a U and fit into two holes on each side of the radio. Some people actually use coat hanger wire. But the real tool has little nubs on the end that engage the spring lock and help pull the radio out.
But without knowing your year and model that is about as good as I get.
actually i had a real nice panasonic installed, but nowv i need back in to see if my antenna came loose, its a b itch to get am all of a sudden and i didnt watch the guy do the install. 2008 f 350 cc dually 4x4 RED...heh heh heh.....thanks chuck
You have to look behind the ashtray and there are 2 bolts, and you have to pop out the accessory covers on the sides and there are 2 more bolts behind them, then the dash cover will come off and you will see the radio bolts. It is not hard at all.
