98 5.0 AWD _ Runs Rough/Stumbles in Rain-Moisture

Got a 98 5.0 AWD explorer that runs rough and stumbles in the rain.. wetter it is the worse it gets.. use to run a lil rough for a few seconds now anytime its wet out the truck runs horrible.. read the codes and got P0307 (misfire cylinder 7)

checked the plug wire and it seemed loose at plug.. reseated it.. cleared codes and havent got the code back..

anyone got any ideas on this? truck runs fine when its dry.. any quick thoughts?

  1. find a dark spot, open the hood and look for electrical leakage (sparks/blue hue)
  2. use a spritzer bottle/water, spray light mist,
  3. watch and listen for miss/electrical crackle

Yep, replace the wires and you might as well do the plugs while you are at it. It's easiest to go thru the wheel wells.
