So I'm in the process of getting my highboy roadworthy, I got a 79 F150 bed, and was wondering if there was much difference between the taillight wiring on my 76 and the taillight wiring on the bed? I tore off the nasty wood flatbed, and saw there was only one connector, where the 79 bed has two?
Another question is I'm also wanting to put on the western long arm mirrors i got, and was wondering if someone could provide a closeup of the mounting locations, I want them to look good installed, not like some moron did it.
the frames on the 79 and 76 are going to be different widths the 79 will be wider
That really doesn't make much difference, just means you need new holes in the bed. No big deal. Mine's like this. '77 F150 bed (actually whole body) on '76 F250.
Thanks for the pic lostinfords, I think that I got a little different mirror, the auction said they were off a 1972 truck. The bottom mounting point sticks down a lot lower when I hold them up on the door. I can take a picture tomorrow.

I already knew that thanks, I'm struggling with the bed bolts right now. I was asking if the taillight wiring was different between 76 and 79.
Thanks for all the replies!
