I have a 2000 F-150 that will blow good, cold air but every so often it will stop coming from the vents and instead blow from the defroster ports, and then switch back again. Unless I take the overdrive OFF. I'm guessing a vacuum problem, any ideas?

Thanks Dan.

I would check the plastic vacuum line behind the battery that goes into the fenderwell. It goes to the vacuum canister and when it breaks, vacuum to the vents will drop under acceleration and default to the defrost vents.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.
