If you get down to the Orange County area I'd be happy to help you out! If you change antennas often then Radio Shack has a model that doesn't cost to much. Also if you seek out a local HAM radio operator they will probably have the equipment to do this for you.

I doubt serioulsy that I will be changing antenna's often. I have had the CB for 4 years and just now installed it. My biggest issue so far is that I have only heard maybe one other conversation on the damn thing since I installed it. So im worried that Im not getting good reception. Hopefully after adjusting the antenna it will work better.
If you've been up and down through the channels and only heard one conversation then I'm guessing that there is something else wrong in your setup. You should be hearing a lot of static and noise but still hearing talk on various channels. You're antenna will work ok on receive even without tuning unless it's a dead antenna. Start checking your coax for shorts or broken connectors. If possible plug in another antenna setup and see if you start hearing things.

I get a bit of static for sure but not as much as I thought I would. I have heard only faint talking and get no response to radio checks. I just installed a 4' Firestick on a heavyduty mount on top of my left bed rail. I did have a ton of interference do to where I ran the cable but once it was moved all seems well. Maybe the cable is junk?
It's possible the cable is bad, more likely is a bad connector or bad ground at the antenna mount. If you know someone who has a mag mount antenna plug that into the back of your CB and see if you pick up a bunch more. If so then you'll know where to start. Or if you know someone with a radio have them transmit and see how it receives. Try to transmit back and see if it works, make this a very short transmission, just in case!

I have another cable, Ill try that today and see what happens. I have a protable CB. Maybe Ill have my son walk down the block and try that out too. Thank you for the help. Hope I get it figured out soon.
Good luck, hope you find out what's wrong. I'll be off the computer until tomorrow but if you have more questions post them and I'll try to get back on tomorrow. Double check your grounds at both ends as this is a common problem. Also check the center lead connection at the antenna base as these sometimes break inside the shielding.
I have an antenna tuner and swr meter for ham antennas but I think it will pick up the CB frequencies. And I am in the SFV.
Thanks guys! I had a buddy come through for me this afternoon. We were able to isolate the issue I was having and fix it. Antenna is now tuned and working awesome.
