EBPV Question...

EBPV Question...
My dad has an 01' F250 7.3L powerstroke. I was with him just the other day. Keep in mind it is summertime and it was about 80 deg. outside. He started and warmed up his truck. I heard his EBPV kick on, you know how it changes the tone of the exhaust? I was told it only kicks on if the outside temp is really cold.
any thoughts on this?

Subscribing, i dont know anything about the ebpv but i have been hearing about it a lot lately and might be intertwined with something going wrong in my truck. hopefully somebody helps out pretty quick, good luck.

Last week at RRE,it was 65 to 70...ish one morning,and when I started my truck,my ebpv came on for a couple mins. then cut off.I don't know the "exact" conditions needed for its operation though.

This is interesting... Mine was clogged and I have been getting worse mileage since I cleaned it!! go figure.
