08 F250 SD CC 6.4 Auto 4x4. Was on vacation in Florida last week and had to replace batteries, fine. When I got home I tried to use 4wd (I use it everday at home) and I got nothing. No light on dash, no click from underneath. I checked all fuses and all relays (moved some relays around to make sure I had a good one in the right spot). I even replaced transfer case motor last night and still nothing. When I replaced transfer case motor, I got DTC's 0100 and 0115. Had to unhook batteries for 30 min. to clear these (even with programmer). I'm sure they'll come right back on. Any suggestions? I checked all the vacuum lines going to hubs for obvious damage but didn't see any.

Reason: add truck info
OK. So they replaced the switch on the dash w/ no luck. I knew it wasn't the switch. So far I've checked all fuses, relays and vacuum lines. Tried new transfercase motor and dash switch. NO LUCK. Anyone know for sure if these trucks have a 4wd control module and where it's located. I saw a diagram of one under the glovebox but can't seem to find it on my truck. Any ideas?

Reason: spelling
When you find the GEM module, open it up to see if it has any corrosion it it. (OEM only part). The truck is pretty new but no light on dash sometimes spells;.........GEM
Anyone know where it's located on the 08's. I looked all around behind the glove box but don't really know what I'm looking for. Ford dealership wouldn't tell me. They said they didn't know if it even had one but would be happy to look if I brought it in. Not yet my friend, not yet.

Thanks for the pic. I'll look again this afternoon. It's just about gotta be behind the glove box but there's a fuse panel there not a whole lot of room for much else. I'll tear it apart this evening. We'll see.
NOTE: The smart junction box (SJB) is also known as the generic electronic module (GEM).
There are 2 multifunction electronic control modules consisting of the following:
Driver seat module (DSM)
SJB
Driver Seat Module (DSM)
The driver seat module (DSM) is located under the driver seat. It controls the memory functions of the seat positions, the adjustable pedals, and the exterior rear view mirrors. The memory driver seat feature allows the driver to program a personalized seat position that can be recalled using the memory set switches or the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter(s).
Smart Junction Box (SJB)
NOTE: The time out for the battery saver relay and the accessory delay relay (both are controlled by the smart junction box [SJB]) is 1 minute if the vehicle has less than 80 km (50 miles) . Once the vehicle passes the approximate mileage threshold of 80 km (50 miles) , the time out for both relays will be the normal 10 minute time out, as described by the Owner's Literature. For the battery saver relay, refer to Lighting and Horns. For the accessory delay relay, refer to Windows.
The SJB controls and provides diagnostic information for the following: Autolamps
Battery saver function
Delayed accessory function
Exterior lighting
Horn
Interior lighting
Power door locks
RKE system/keyless entry keypad
Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) (late build vehicles only)
I probably shouldn't post too many images on this thread, but the diagnostic chart points to the "4x4 control module" on all ESOF issues, and never once mentions the GEM.
