Hey Everyone,
I Just recently bought a 1979 Ford F150. My first truck and im super excited that i purchased one of these. It is a project for me and my dad, whenever he has time to work on it with me. As of late i have been doing most of the work by myself and have run into a problem with the brakes. i replaced both rear drums completely and all the lines. Now i need to bleed them but my brake pedal is stuck on the floor and i cant seem to get it up. I have been looking for a thread with a similar problem but have been unsuccessful, so i hope i am not repeating.. Any possible help or advice would be great since i am new to this.
I work as a brake tech. Yes first things first is to un hooke the master so you can see the push rod. Have your dad or someone try to move the pedal. if it still doesn't move go under the dash and unhooke the push rod from the pedal. now you can tell if its the pivot or the booster. as far as bleadding goes you can just open the bleader screws and let it drain. this is called gravity bleading. helps to have the master cap off, don't let the master run dry. close the bleaders and pump the pedal slowly till its hy and hard and open the bleaders again to make sure all the bubles are out.
