exhaust question

i have a 4inch turbo back exhaust on my truck with the straight through muffler on it i hear some 7.3 that sound so much louder i assume that they have no muffler at all, has anyone taken their straight muffler off and just put it 4inches all the way.. does it make a big difference? i already saw a big difference from stock just looking for that little more

Have you listened to your truck from the outside?? Mine is A LOT louder when I get on it from outside. You really don't hear much on the inside. Try nailing it next to a tall brick wall with the back-right window down or have someone else nail it while you watch from the tail-pipe side...

I'm running straight through exhaust I really dont think it is that loud personnally, definetely has a distinct sound lots of whistle from turbo but inside the truck not even noticable as I've heard some people with mufflers report of drone in the cab. Most people who dont know I even have exhaust inside the cab until I roll down the windows then they're always grinning.

Quite a few people go with the straight piped setup. It will make the exhaust tone and turbo sound louder.

I just installed the MBRP 4" turbo back and it has a nice growl and the turbo whine is very prominent. Takes some getting use to but overall I like it.

Mine has an extremely deep and loud tone. I have the straight pipe setup as well, but my exhaust is also a 5 inch system.

Sitting in my truck with the straight through system, she is pretty decent, get under a bridge, or next to a building and step on it, oh yeah, she is loud. Was just informed last night that one of the neighbors uses me as alarm clock.
