Hi I have a 1975 F250 Ranger XLT Standard Cab and was wondering about installing 3-point sealtbelts instead of the lapbelts. Is it possible,-
Do I need to reeinforce the post, Has anybody done it and can help out.
As always any input is greatly appreciated.
Shoulder belts were first offered on F100/350's in 1968 as an option, and continued to be optional until midyear 1977 when they became standard equipment.
Thanks for the replies so far. Good link 78f250lj. So I guess its not going to be a quick fix with just adding a bracket or bolt to the cab post. Is there any other way to get a 3-point belt into a standard cab without having to cut the posts?
I have to do the exact same thing to my 77. A former owner cut out the mounting plates apparently to install 6x9 speakers in the holes. For now I installed lap belts, but will need to weld in parts from a doner truck.
If you don't need a retractable belt, there are 3 point, 4 point and 5 point haresses out there. I have a three point harnesses in my truck. It has dual shoulder belts that are anchored behind the seat. It uses the standard mounting points for the lap poritoin of the belt. It gives you two shoulder straps and a lap belt. If you google seat belts, ytou will come across a variety of differnet types of belts for ever purpose and cost.
