Hey Mike love your work frame looks fantastic. Curious what did you you use to paint it? Sorry if you already mentioned it in the previous posts.
After I sandblasted the frame I sprayed two coats of Rustoleum red primer then followed that with two coats of Valspar semi-gloss black industrial coating.
So what's next? Do you think you'll do anything w/ the engine before you go back to work or are you saving that for the next time your home?
I'm not going to do anything engine-wise right now. I'll have to send it out for the machine work and even though a buddy owns the shop I don't want it sitting for several months untill I get back.
I'll start buying and stockpiling parts for the rebuild though.
ok, just wondering.. my truck has 2.5's and i am switching to 3" springs.. but i cant find new replacment hangers for 3" springs. i geuss that 3's are less comon so thats why they dont reproduc them..
Thanks for the kind words. After three years Old Blue is finally complete (as of this last weekend). New tires, a Custom AutoSound antique looking radio and new wheels...now the only thing left is getting the A/C charged up.
I'll get some new pics posted as soon as I can find a good location for some good pics.
Wow, what a nice job. I would like to do this with my recent 1979 F-150 purchase.
DMV will not give me a tag because it is missing all the smog stuff. But in just 3 years, at the truck age of 35, they no longer require any inspections. So I have a full 3 years to restore.
SOoooo, How much do you guys think a frame off resto would amount to $$$$?
I dont want to step in over my head and end up with pieces of a truck I cant afford to put back together.
