Meguiars #26 or Gold Class ?
The hardest part was deciding on the Wax. For like 10 minutes, I stood there with a package of Meguiars Gold Class Clear-Coat Wax in one hand, and Meguiars #26 pure Carnuba in the other, trying to figure out which one to go with.
#26 is Carnuba based and Gold Class is one of the newer Polymer based waxes.
Of course, when you read the labels, both basically say they are the best there is

My final decision was for the Gold Class. I reached that decision in a complete unscientific manner. I just figured it would be more compatible with the Meguiars Quick-Detail I also got

I normally have the dealer wax the truck at each oil change anyway (they have a nice $40 hand wash/wax deal with interior and they do a fine job), but since I'm buying this truck instead of leasing, I'll probably do it myself each Spring and Fall as well.
Any comments on these waxes ?
I've used Meguiars stuff for years and years, so I figured either one would be relatively safe.

I had the same dilemma when I waxed my wife's car. I was going to buy the Gold Class but my brother had a new bottle of #26 which he said I could use. I'll let you know the #26 did not dissappoint me, the paint finish looked AWESOME when I was done(very easy to apply and take off)!
What I ended up doing though was calling Meguiars Technical line because I was also curious to see what the difference between there waxes were(#26 and Gold Class in particular). They told me that Gold Class is there latest wax and it offers better protection and lasts longer than the #26 because the chemicals in the wax are synthetic based. Bottom line is that they told me that there Gold Class would be the better out of the two.
I guess I can't wait to use it since I was really impressed with their #26 wax.
Let me know what you think of the Gold Class since that's the one you purchased!
I like the Gold Class too! I usually use the Body Scrub in the spring and then the GC wax. I don't bother with the polish bit because of time constraints. Most of my time is spent getting pine sap and bird droppings off of the bronco's fiberglass roof section.
have my av pic in my Gallery; that is the GC wax after about 2 months of 50 mile one way commution, beach runs, and outdoor parking. It holds up through summer and a fall waxing keeps it a-ok through to spring time.
