locking mechanism??

locking mechanism??
The locks are not working correctly on the wife's '97 Expy. I have the panel off and I found a clip laying at the bottom. The lock moves with the "lock/unlock" switch but not enough for the door to be opened. Anyone know where I can get a diagram of what the inside of that door looks like?

Could have a weak actuator.

I would get a Haynes Manuel at the parts store. Some people think they are inferior to some kind of ford service manual but I have learned a lot from them. I think chapter 11 has some info on door locks.

Can the actuators be rebuilt or is it not worth the time? Just look for a used one?

You can find them fairly cheap on ebay.

I would try adding some lube to any of the linkage that may be binding first.
