i did that once without a tailpipe, just dumped with no muffler. I didn't actually do it on purpose, my whole exhaust muffler included back fell off during one of my "offroad excursions" it sounded good so i just threw the fallen off exhaust in the bed of the truck and drove with it like that for a bit. I thought it sounded like a tractor, but i kinda liked it, it was different.
You ran a tailpipe? I did that one time too with no muffler. What did you think your truck sounded like? Dumped under my truck I thought it sounded just like a tractor.
i dont remember if u stated on youtube or not ever but have you done anything to the cats? do they still end at the same lenght as stock? cause i need to know so i can make a side exit like you had
Visit any muffler shop and ask for a Allied resonator. They are essentially a flow through glss-pack type design but last for many, many years (my wifes car has them for 12 years now and they are still in excellent shape). They have a deep, throaty tone and a mellow vibtrato during accel, but low on noise.
dumping under the truck it had a tractor sound, but will the full length exhaust it evened the tone out- got rid of being able to hear the individual pulses.
I always run a tailpipe anymore, i can't stand exhaust noise in the cab.
Now intake noise; that's what gets me all worked up
Well, it still has a burble, just not the tractor like "pop, pop, pop" that you get from 6 cylinders idling at 500 RPM through a single exhaust.
In my house i can't hear my truck running in the driveway (100') but i know when it's idling. It's hard to describe, but you can feel it idling while it's nearly silent.
I have never really liked the flow 40 or 44s, my friend has the 44s and they are high pitched and crackly (make a popping noise). i have a full magnaflow setup on mine. Magnaflow high flow cat and a universal 1-in-1-out muffler. i couldnt hollow out the cat cause i am stationed in germany and it woudnt pass inspection. it is fairly quit at an idle or just cruising, but it opens up at WOT and under load. if you want it louder you can just hollow out the cat. the whole setup cost 300 even, welded and everything
it isnt high pitced...i said f* it to the setup i planned n just bought a super 44..but then again my exhaust is 3" single to the back, so it sounds deep and mellow..sounds good i think and its louder than the summit turbo that was on there ha
