08 job 3 f-350 lariat cc, lwb, 14000 miles.Has anyone else had a problem with the fan belt squealing on start up after the truck has been sitting in the sun for a few hours. Its also only if the A/C has been on and is still on. It doesn't do it when its cool out but when its hot like it has been here in AZ it squeals something awful when first started.
I will have it checked out when I take it in for the 15k service but thought I would see if this is a common problem on the newer models.
Mine did it last week twice in the same day but that was the first and last time mine has done it. Maybe it is an Az thing? Let us know what they tell you.
I just had my truck in for service on the intercooler and my service advisor told me there is a service bulletin on the chirping belt, they replaced one of the pullies on my truck.
Mine did the same thing....Took it to Ford dealer and they replaced the "idle pulley"....No more sqeaks...The dealer knew of my problem and knows that there is a problem so they should be able to get it fixed quickly.
I just got the truck back from service and they replaced the belt on it. The TSB # is
09-9-8. I guess I'll have to wait and see if it starts doing it again.
no chirping here..but i did notice that the serpintine belt is starting to groove on the flat side, going to get them to look at and hopefully have changed out.
Well 2 weeks later and the damn belt is squealing again after it sits in the sun. I guess they will have to look further on it when it goes in for the 20k oil change.
