I was going to swap out all the carb. engine parts , flywheel, etc you mentioned as well. basically im going to use the block, internals, heads and that is it.. everything else is comming off of the original 302.. as for fuel.. holley elect pump with regulator.
What ya think..
ok .. here is what I got today. I dropped the oil pan and found about 1/4 - 1/8 of sludge, and other debris, silicone pieces, leaves, some ??? and a half circle concaved washer... It is about 1/2 round with slots on the sides.. its spherical in shape but only a half almost like a little bowl.. it has a small opening on the bottom.. looks like it use to go over a stud and hold a nut..
the screen was full of chunks of everything.. I hope this fixes it... i didnt get a chance to run it yet.. I ran out of time. I also pulled a bone head move.. I pulled the oil pump and reinstalled it... after a through cleaning... forgot to put the pump rod back in... oops.. I will just pull the distributor and drop it in..
while under the bottom of the engine I looked at what I could see.. nothing looked abnormal, no wander on the crank. The cylinder walls had no lipping or any scratches..
Let you all know what happens.. thank you all again..
