Just took my truck in to get the dreaded annual emissions testing done. After pulling into the bay they asked to pop the hood as usual.
I am worried about my CCV bypass installation, just because I worry too much anyway! So the guy goes to the passenger side of the truck and pulls out his flashlight and points it at the back of the engine toward the turbo and just stood there and looked around for a minute or two.
Anybody know just what the heck they are looking for there? He didn't even look on the driver's side where my CCV bypass was.
Anyway it all ended well, as I passed, but just curious what this guy was looking for?
You got me, but emissions on old-school type diesels is a damn joke. What can break to cause more emissions of something they're trying to measure? Think about it... That entire thing is gov't condoned extortion of truck owners.
I agree, I don't think this kid knew enough about a diesel to be looking for anything specific. I think he was just trying to look like he knew what he was doing.
I wanted to ask him what he was looking for but decided not to.
