Power Hungry Chip...?

Since they posted that they are a sponsor again, i have been reading through their website. Sounds pretty impressive and not bad pricing at all. Just wondering for those of you that have that chip, what do y'all think of it? Is it the same install as the DP Tuner? I emailed Bill to ask him some of the questions i had as well, but i figured i would check with y'all before i heard back from him.

sorry I missed this. been kinda busy. I am very happy with my PHP chip. I have run others, Bully Dog(in my 97) and DP. I like the way Bill's tunes make my truck run best of all. Install is caveman simple and service is amazing. I'm sure if Kwik (Dan) sees this thread, he will chime in.

Install is a breeze -- it's the same chip I have (hardware) with different tunes... I'm sure you'll like it!

What was different between Jody's chip and Bill's? (Drivability)

Thanks.

What impresses me the most about PHP is the EGT control.
I've been out on vacation in the high desert country in August.
Temperatures 90+ at 5000-7000 foot elevation.
Pulling the trailer up a bunch of 6% grades, temperature outside so hot that I have to turn off the AC and gear down or risk boiling over because the water temperature gauge is moving up near the top. Never have I seen the water temperature gauge move up like that since I have owned the truck. The conditions here right now really test the cooling system!
If I was doing that with the Diablo Predator Tow/Haul tune, the EGT would have hit minimum 1400 degrees or more.
With the PHP chip I have to really flog it to hit 1200. It used to be that I would have to watch the pyrometer, but on this trip out, I'm watching the water temperature gauge.
There was a couple of hills that I had to drop down into third before the water temp would start to drop back down.
Radiator fan ROARING.
I don't know how he did it, but for me, that is the best part about it all.
Plus the extra power is good too.

Good morning! If you haven't already received a reply from Bill, I'd be happy to have him give you a call if you want to PM your number to me. I think our customers in this thread (Hi, Guys! Thanks for the posts!) would tell you that we're NOT pushy salespeople. In fact, we talk customers out of purchasing things they don't need all the time -- I know, sounds silly... that's just not our style. Anyway, our days are super busy with phone calls, etc., and it's sometimes easier for Bill to get in touch with customers in the evening when the phones slow down a bit (or I'd just suggest you give us a shout), and he can spend more time with you answering any questions you might have.

Sounds great, i will be give you guys a shout to find out more. Bill gave me a really good explanation of the details in his email, but it's always nice to hear more. Trust me i understand that y'all are quite busy. I was happy to hear back from you so fast. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Thanks so much for your input about this chip. I am definitely leaning towards this chip.

True - Bill talked me out of a tune he didn't think I needed. And didn't follow up with trying to sell me a different one. He just didn't think I needed the one I was asking about.

To the OP. I've ran a Superchips (sucked) and DP (Awesome Tunes/Awesome Experience with the People) and now PHP. I put the 65tow to test this summer with a 4400 mile 5er tow. Shifts are spot on and egt's are great like Dan said. Shifting. Shifting. Did I mention Shifting yet? Cause I should.

I'm going to get a burner next so I can re-burn my chip fro FREE when I want to add this or remove that. Yes FREE.

And their prices are spectacular.

I used the 80hp tune to pass a slow poke today.
How in the heck does a 10,000 lb truck accelorate so fast?

Has anyone run Power hungry's phoenix, as well as a DP? How do the 2 compare power-wise, and mileage-wise and egt-wise? I just got rid of my edge evolution and am looking to order one of them this week!!
