hey guys i have a 95 f-350 it has been getting horrible fuel milage and power. the other day i was driving and the truck started making a knocking noise that sounded like it was coming from the injectors. the truck was also blowing a ton of blue smoke and had no power. then the truck began to loose power and the throttle wouldn't respond then it DIED. i have then sence been towed home put a new cps and a new fuel pump. now i still have no start. the tach now is moving when i crank the motor. i have checked the #22 maxi fuse and it is fine.
So now i need help to get pointed in the right direction PLEASE!!!
soi just got back into town last night and started playing with the truck again. i replaced the fuel filter and checked all the fuses. the filter looked black but all the fuses are good. i still havr the same problem yruck will crank but won't start anymore ideas would be great?
Noisy injectors sounds a lot like low HPOP pressure. Low power and smoke sounds like a toasted turbo, but that would not cause a no start. Fuel pressure? How long does it crank before the injectors pick up? Seconds? Minutes?
my truck blows a lot of blue/white smoke everytime i start it cause i need to put in a new glow plug one is bad. even when its warm i still have to use ethar sometimes if your not scared of that go ahead and turn your key on till your wait to start lite goes off then give your air filter a shot if it still dont hit then you might consider glow plugs ond wires that go to them
Yep. Also, either is a dangerous trick on these engines. Glowplugs and either don't work together. An easy way to destroy an engine. Could be your selenoid to the glowplugs is out. Blue smoke at startup is a good sign of o-rings gone bad.

You need to re-read the original post since there were other problems mentioned leading up to the no-start condition........bad fuel economy,no power,etc......Once the engine was warmed up,it wouldnt really matter what condition his glow plugs were in.
His problem and yours are different, yours sounds like its just a startup problem, while his involves actual driveability.

do those 150 hp injectors make a big difference.
They are 150cc injectors. Yes. The factory injectors are 100cc. That means it takes 100cc of oil to make them fire under full load. The 150cc injectors on my truck made a huge difference. It weighs 13,000lbs, and I would bet it will beat a stock 97 and older 7.3 from 0 to 60mph. Did not affect mileage at all. Still get the same, 12.5mpg's. The guy that installed then made the chip for me too. He uses swamps tunes, which is who built the injectors also.
My 02 has 140cc injectors from the factory, so very little difference would be noticed on that engine. On my work truck, in the 80 setting, the computer will trip a code that the HPOP is running out of oil. It will run like you wouldn't believe for a work truck! And will smoke like nobodies business too, if you like that kind of thing. It does come in handy with tailgaters, but I wish it didn't do that when driving around town. I'm usually careful with the throttle in town as to not blow too much smoke.

well i was going to replace my glow plugs and probably my injectors my truck is a 97 7.3 i have a hvprtec programer, straight pipe, and a k&n cold air intake, i have gadges for boost exaust and water temps. i know it might be hard to believe but my truck has 330 thousand miles and it gets on average 19 miles to a gallon with the programer on the hwy it averages about 21 without the programer it gets bout 17 18 but i would like injecters how hard are they to put in?
So i checked the fuel pressure and its right at 60-70 psi.. I checked the hpop resivor which was low. After topping it off with oil and still no start i have plugged in and unplugged the ebpv no difference still no start is there anything else i should check before i blowup my truck?
